Education & Qualifications
I graduated with an MSc Conservation & Biodiversity from University of Exeter, Penryn Campus where I was a main contributor for the University of Exeter's Natural Selection Podcast. My Masters Dissertation assessed the use of Stable Isotope Analysis to determine foraging areas of Sea Turtles. I previously gained my BSc Biology from the University of Southampton in 2014, with an emphasis on Biodiversity, Conservation, Ecology and Evolution. My Undergraduate Dissertation assessed the relationship between herbivorous fish and benthic makeup in Marine Protected and Unprotected Areas in Honduras.
MSc Conservation & Biodiversity (Distinction)
University of Exeter 2016
Dissertation: Gaining insights of Sea Turtle Ecology through Stable Isotope Analysis
BSc Biology (2:1)
University of Southampton 2014
Dissertation: Assessing the relationship between herbivorous fish and benthic makeup in Marine Protected and Unprotected Areas in Honduras.
Research Assistant - Operation Wallacea, Cuba
July 2014 - August 2014
Research assistant to several projects including Stereo-Video to monitor fish stocks, lionfish population checks, shark tagging, manatee surveys and Cuban Parrot surveys. Each of these projects gave me the opportunity to learn more about data collection for a variety of wildlife in different environments and at different scales.
Dissertation Research Student - Operation Wallacea, Honduras
June 2013 - August 2013
Worked with Operation Wallacea to conduct research on the link between the health of herbivorous fish populations and the coral and macroalgal cover of reefs in marine protected areas and non-protected areas in Honduras. The research involved the use of 3D, stereo-video cameras and EventMeasure, a programme used to estimate the biomass of fish species. It also involved Underwater Visual Census' where I had to identify over 300 fish species underwater. Data collected was used for my dissertation and sent to the Honduran Coral Reef Foundation for their reef monitoring and conservation efforts.
